| Intersegmental General Education Transfer
Curriculum (IGETC) to CSU and UC Completion of all the requirements in the Intersegmental General
Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) will permit a student to transfer
from a community college to a campus in either the California State
University or University of California system without the need to take
additional lower-division general education courses. Transfer students
will receive certification for all their general education requirements
only after completing all of the subject areas listed below with a “C”
grade or better in each course.
PLEASE NOTE: IGETC Certification represents only a portion of the 60
total units that students must complete before transferring. In
addition, some University of California schools require that students
complete specific course work in a major before transfer, and some
majors require a higher grade point average than designated for general
admission. Therefore, a student may also reference the California
Articulation database at
www.assist.org
for information on major
requirements and course articulation. See a Rio Hondo counselor for
further explanation and planning materials.
