New students: New students who have a current application on file and attended an orientation between March 8-April 23 will have a priority registration date of May 4.
-Call the Assessment Center to sign up for orientation (562) 692-0921, ext. 7226.

Military Personnel
Priority Registration

Military personnel, Veterans and active military personnel receive priority registration! To register beginning Friday, April 9, 2010 bring the DD214 or Military ID to the Admissions and Records Office as soon as possible to receive priority registration.

What Is Open Registration?
Any student may register by logging on to:ACCESSRIO at https://ssb.riohondo.edu regardless of his/her initial appointment time. You may use AssessRio registration 24 hours a day.

Who May Apply To
Rio Hondo College
You may be eligible for admission to Rio Hondo College if you are:
• A high school graduate or GED recipient.
• Not a high school graduate but over 18 years of age
• A current high school student who is recommended by the school principal for advanced academic or vocational (non-remedial) classes, has the approval of the student’s parent(s) and is LIMITED TO 7 UNITS (if under 18 years-old), meets the colleges special admissions criteria.


Enrichment students younger than 9th grade
Students younger than 9th grade will be admitted if they meet the exceptional student criteria (highly gifted students with an IQ score above 130). These students may only enroll in college level courses (degree applicable courses), must meet prerequisites, and must show documentation of their gifted status and proof of IQ.
