The Visual Arts Department at Rio Hondo College offers a variety of fundamental and advanced courses in Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Design, Freehand Drawing, Life Drawing, Painting, Photography as well as the Digital Arts including Video, all taught by professional exhibiting artists. The goal of the Visual Arts Department is to give each student a strong foundation in visual literacy while they develop skills necessary to build a portfolio for transfer or begin a career in the arts. The department also welcomes the professional wishing to further develop skills and the beginner wishing to explore the visual arts.
