

Cynthia Lewis received a B.A. in Art History from Pomona College, Claremont, and an M.A. in Art History from CSU Fullerton, specializing in the colonial art of the Americas.
She teaches courses in the history of western art (Art 105, Art 106), The Art of Mexico, (Art 108), Modern Art (Art 112), Understanding Visual Art (Art 110), and History of Photography (Art 113).
Currently, she is examining the rise of art historical fiction as a literary and cinematic genre and its effects on the methodology of art history. An art researcher for numerous documentaries produced by the History Channel, Discovery Channel, and A&E, she is now researching and writing a documentary on the contemporary art scene in Mexico City. She frequently travels to Spain, Mexico, Italy and France with her art and art history students.
