Robert received his B.F.A. from Otis Parsons Art Institute and a M.F.A from the University of California, Los Angeles. After he graduated Robert went to Japan as an Artist-in-Residence in Shigraki, Japan. Upon return from the orient he opened an art studio in Los Angeles.  His work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in collections throughout the United States, Canada and Asia. Robert has taught ceramics at the college and university level for over 15 years through out Southern California. Robert has owned two galleries; Miller Fine Art, and Miller Durazo Contemporary Artists Projects, which was designed to showcase young emerging talent.  Currently, Robert holds the position of Instructor of ceramics at Rio Hondo College, Long Beach College and Mt. San Antonio College.
