The Music Department at Rio Hondo College offers a wide variety of courses designed to give students a base from which to pursue more advanced goals in music, either at the university or professional level.  Courses offered include technical classes that explore elements of music like Fundamentals of Music, Music Theory, and Musicianship.  Courses that deal with historical aspects of music are offered and include History of Rock and Roll, Music in Latin American Culture, and Music History Before and After 1750. Finally, we offer courses that investigate contemporary applications of music like Electronic Music I & II.
