The Studio Arts courses at Rio Hondo College introduce the beginner to materials and methods while challenging the experienced artist to explore and achieve in skill development, problem solving and creative expression. Students are exposed to both traditional and contemporary art making processes. Courses include two and three dimensional design, freehand drawing, life drawing, and representational and abstract painting. The faculty consists of experienced teachers, who are trained professional and exhibiting artists. Our classes are open to those with an art background and to absolute beginners.
