• I took the English placement test, but I didn't do as well as I could have. Can I take it again? What is the appeal policy?

There is an appeal/challenge policy, and you'll find it in room A-219, the Division of Communications and Languages office. Students wishing to challenge a placement must complete an essay on an assigned topic under the supervision of the office staff. This essay will then be reviewed by two faculty members or one faculty member and the Division Dean.  Copies of the appeal/challenge policy, guidelines, and writing topic for English 35 and 101, and for ESL 37, 197, and 198 are available in the Division office.
