Language and ESL Lab - A210
The Language and ESL Lab in Room A210 is designed to
accommodate the classroom software requirements of
students enrolled in all levels of the Foreign Language
and ESL Programs at Rio Hondo College. Instructors and
assistants in the Lab direct and assist students with
the many different CD ROM programs available for their
classes. After logging in, students practice
pronunciation, writing, vocabulary, and listening skills
using programs that support their classroom instruction.
These include Focus on Grammar, ESL 2000, and
English Discoveries, for ESL, Claro Que Sí
and Travel Tur for Spanish, and Rosetta
Stone for Japanese, French, Chinese, Spanish, and
basic English. In addition, the Lab is networked for
class-related Internet use and offers access to online
classes. The Lab is available to students only during
posted lab times, and non-language or non-ESL students
are welcome on a space-available basis.
