Reading Department
Doreen Kaller is a Reading Instructor who teaches a variety of reading classes as well as Effective Study Methods and Spelling. She has been actively involved in many campus committees and projects during her tenure at Rio including Chairperson of Curriculum, College for Youth Coordinator, Contract Negotiating Team, Writing Across the Curriculum Project, just to name a few. She has also taught ESL composition classes and English 30. She presently teaches Effective Study Methods 134 online, and has developed the Reading Department website as well as the Reading Tips website.
During her leisure time Doreen loves to dance and compete in West Coast Swing events. She loves to read short stories, novels, newspapers, and all articles dealing with finance. She plays golf whenever possible and spends her remaining time with family, friends, and her dog, Sandy. Her preferred venue for relaxation is her garden and orchard.
Her degrees include a B.A. in English from CSUF and an M.S. in Education with an emphasis in Reading from CSUF. She also earned a Multi-Media Certificate from Cal Poly Pomona and she participated in the University of Irvine Writing Project.
