Reading Department

Karleen Curlee has been working at Rio Hondo College since 1991, first as the coordinator of the Learning Assistance Center and then as a full-time professor in the Reading Department.   She currently teaches a wide range of reading courses as well as tutor training courses for the LAC and the Teacher Prep Program.   In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending plays and concerts, traveling, and reading, especially historical fiction.

Her degrees include an A.A.in Foreign Language from Fullerton College, a B.A. in French from CSUF, and an M.S. in Education with an emphasis in Reading from CSUF.
