The Reading
Skills Lab is a skills class
designed to assist students in improving their
reading comprehension and vocabulary through lab work.
Students enrolled in Basic Reading 21 or Intermediate
Reading 22 must be concurrently enrolled in the
1/2 unit Reading Skills Lab. The lab provides students
with individual reading tasks designed for additional
practice and mastery of concepts presented in class.
The lab
includes computers, books, tapes, and workbooks which
cover a variety of reading skills and levels.
In addition to the on-campus lab, there is an online lab
available for partial lab credit for students enrolled
in Reading 21 and Reading 22.
The Reading Skills Lab is staffed with Reading Instructors and Instructional
Assistants who are available to assist students with their reading assignments
and questions related to lab materials.
The Reading Skills Lab is
located in room LR-118 on the 1st floor of the new Rio Hondo College LRC
