Mywritinglab is offered to all English 30 and 35 students.  Students are required  to purchase a book from the bookstore.  The book includes an access code, which will allow students to register and access Mywritinglab.  The access code is good for one full year, so students who successfully move on to the next class level can continue to use the online program.

To learn more about the program, log on to http://www.mywritinglab.com/ and take the tour offered online.   You may obtain more information from your English instructor or stop by the Writing Workshop for more help. 

To register to mywritinglab, follow these simple steps:

Before you begin, you will need: 

• Your school zip code:  90601

• A MyWritingLab "Course ID" from the Writing Workshop

                English 30/30W:   College774258W
             English 35/35W:   College727233W

• A MyWritingLab student access code (packed with your new handbook)
  

 Registration:

1. Enter http://www.mywritinglab.com in your Web Browser

2. Under New User? Start here! click on Students

3. Click on "I already have an access code."

4. Read the License Agreement and Privacy Policy and click "I Accept"

5. Fill out the Access Information. Start by answering the question, "Do you have a Pearson Education account?" 

6. Select No

7. Create your Login Name and password.  (Your Login Name should be your LAST name and the last FOUR digits of your student ID number.  Your Password must be 8 characters long and contain at least one number).

8. Type in your access code in the fields provided.  Your access code has to be typed in exactly as shown (capital letters)

9. If your Log in name and password are accepted, move on to Account Information. 

10. Enter your First and Last name, Email address,  select your Country and enter your School's Zip Code (90601), find your school (Rio Hondo College)  and last choose and answer the security question and click NEXT.

If successful, you will receive a Confirmation Screen with your information.  This information will also be emailed to you. 

Logging In

1. Under "Returning Users click Log In

2. Enter the Login Name and Password you created and click "Log in."

3. The first time you log-in, you will be asked to join your instructor's course.  On the first page, select "Join Your Instructor's Course" from the menu.

4. Enter your Instructor's Course ID into the search filed and click Submit.
