Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSP&S)

Getting Started

Eligibility:

In order to receive the services of the DSP&S program at Rio Hondo College, a person must 1) be a registered Rio Hondo Student and 2) have a disability that can be verified.  We have a variety of methods to verify a disability.  If you have an observable disability, for example the loss of a limb, the DSP&S Director can verify the disability immediately.  If you have an unobservable disability, you will need to provide verification in writing from a professional person (doctor, psychologist, audiologist, psychiatrist, etc) that explains the nature and severity of the disability.  If you do have verification as described above, please bring it with you when you come to apply.  If you don't have a written verification, please bring us the name and address of the individual, clinic, hospital, or school that can provide proof.  Our verification form in the How to Apply section provides you with the means for us to obtain proof of disability.

How to Apply:

The How to Apply link will direct you to another web page where you can open and print some of the forms that you will need to apply for services.  Once you've printed these forms, please follow the directions provided for each form.

Appointments:
