Grant Launch Pad
The Launch Pad, a
proposal of a proposal, will be
presented by GDD to Cabinet for approval. The purpose of the Launch
Pad is to ensure that there is campus approval prior to any effort to
write or submit a grant proposal to a funder. It gives the
President, VPs and CFO campus permission to sign-off on any required
proposal documents. It also allows Project Teams to come up
with the first outline of a project.
The Launch Pad must be signed by the Project Leader
and Division Dean before being submitted to the GDD. The Dean's
signature is verification that he/she has reviewed the project and
endorsed it. The signature of the Grant Development Coordinator indicates
that the project is in line with the funder's purpose and RFA. In addition,
the Project Leader will have to meet with and receive approval from the
teams listed below if related to the project. Sometimes this meeting can
be in the form of a phone call.
The Grant Development
Department (GDD can help the Project Team with this document
and can help arrange these meetings
if requested. Initials of Directors signify that they have reviewed
their area of expertise related to the project:
1. Human Resources (if hiring new
employees):
2. Voc Ed and Economic Development (if starting a new program):
3. Computer Equipment (if
purchasing any computer related equipment):
4. Facilities (if buying equipment
that involves facilities and/or installation):
5. Other (If there is a specific area that
has expertise in this grant project’s area)
The four signatures below signify Cabinet
approval and must be received in order to submit a grant to any funding
agency. These will be completed by the Grant Development Office
during Cabinet:
1. President
2. VP Academic Services
3. VP Student and Community Services
4. Chief Financial Officer
