"I'm Going to College!"
Student Activities
2003-2004
| 6th Graders |
The 6th grade classes in the "I'm Going to
College!" program will be visited by Rio Hondo College
students that will give them insight into what to expect when
in college. Burke, North Park and Rivera Middle Schools
will take part in this activity. |
| 7th Graders |
The 7th grade classes of Burke, North Park and
Rivera Middle Schools that have signed "I'm Going to College!"
contracts will be visiting Rio Hondo College in November.
There they will be able to sit in college classes and
experience lectures and ask questions. Rio Hondo college
students will be their guides. |
| 8th Graders |
The 7th grade classes that are involved in the
program will be visiting California State College Long Beach
in the Spring. They will be able to tour the campus and
talk to a student panel there |
The schools also plan career days and other
activities to encourage students to start thinking of what they
would like to study. |
