RHC
Mentoring Program
Mentor in the
RHC Mentoring program guide their protégée's development in understanding
their personal and academic goals. Mentors are not academic advisors
who handle the issues around curriculum scheduling, matriculation
requirements, and transfer articulation. Mentors are not expected
to be counselors who handle sustained interventions in helping students
adjust to personal problems

Mentors:
- Establish
initial contacts with protégées within two weeks
of launch
- Clarify expectations
and goals
- Meet with
protégé a minimum of four times per month (Face
to face contact at least once a month)
- Develop a
professional personal relationship with their protégées
- Provide socialization
in the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be a successful student
- Are a
resource for support areas of the college
- Guide the
student in effective problem solving
- Maintain
and honor confidentiality
- Maintain
records of protégée contacts
- Attend planned
group activities
- Participate
in the program's evaluation process
