Rio Hondo College was establised in 1963.
The student body has increased greatly over the years.
In 2004, Rio Hondo College asked area residents to vote “Yes” to pass Measure A, to provide much needed Bond funding to renovate the main campus and to build new satallite locations including the El Monte Educational Center.
The El Monte Educational Center, also known as EMEC, was completed in March 2013.
On April 1, 2013, we opened the doors to start our first 8-week Spring semester with 9 credit courses and 1 Continuing Education computer class.
EMEC is here to serve the Greater El Monte Community and surrounding cities.
We encourage our students and the residents in the community to visit the new facility and provide feedback. Your suggestions will help us plan which academic and continuing education courses we will offer in the future.
Welcome to EMEC!!!
