Office of Government and
Community Relations
Welcome to the webpage for the Office of Government & Community
Relations (GCR). GCR is responsible for maintaining productive
working relationships with government agencies, legislators, school
districts, and community organizations throughout the college
district.
With respect to government relations, this office works with
agencies, departments, and elected officials at the federal, state,
county, and city levels of government. In addition, this office
serves as a liaison between the Rio Hondo College community and our
federal and state advocates. The cities and communities that are
included within district boundaries and the trustee area in which
they are located are as follows:

With respect to community relations, GCR builds on existing
partnerships and seeks to build new partnerships with our local
school districts, churches, law enforcement agencies, businesses,
chambers of commerce, cultural arts organizations, transportation
agencies, neighborhood associations, hospitals, utilities,
environmental groups, service providers, and many other types of
non-profits and community based organizations in the district.

Furthermore, the Office of GCR has taken the initiative of
connecting Rio Hondo College students with volunteer opportunities
ranging from one time volunteer activities at local community events
