Position: NURSING INSTRUCTOR, PART-TIME
Salary: Dependent upon academic background and educational experience
Starting Date: As needed – This is to establish a pool for future part-time teaching positions
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a current license as an RN in the state of California
Two years of experience as an RN within the last five years, with at least one of those years in the provision of direct patient care
The equivalent. (If you feel that you qualify under the equivalency provisions complete the Equivalency section on the application providing information that can be evaluated by the Department Equivalency Committee.)
A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
PLEASE NOTE: Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date.
Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing and gerontology and/or psychiatric nursing and/or obstetrics/women’s health and/or pediatrics
Assignment may include teaching courses in clinical/theory classes in the ADN and/or VN programs as assigned during day and evening hours.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Request or download a Rio Hondo College District application form and return to the Office of Human Resources no later than 4:30 p.m. on the closing date listed above. Only complete applications will be considered. A complete application consists of:
- Completed District application form AND a Supplemental Questionnaire.
- Complete transcripts of all college/university studies, including degrees earned, (copies will be accepted).
- Resumé indicating educational background/work experience.
- If in possession of the appropriate credential, a copy must be submitted.
