We support you! Training is available for individuals or groups by appointment for SARS Grid, SARS Trak, Blackboard Connect, InformaCast, LaserFiche, Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Microsoft Windows, WordPress, and our installed WordPress Plugins. We will provide ongoing training as-needed in our campuses enterprise software needs.
Banner Navigation Training
Banner Navigation Training is required for new users of Internet Native Banner and is available upon request. Please obtain and complete a Banner security form prior to scheduling training. Banner Navigation Training usually takes 1hr 30min to complete the training and the testing.
You will receive your account shortly after successfully completing Banner Navigation Training. The security form will be submitted to the appropriate supervisor who assigns access privileges and then our support team will activate the account and notify you via e-mail.
Banner Navigation Training is not required for faculty using AccessRio.
SARS Software Products
We provide installation and usage support for SARS-GRID, SARS-TRAK, eSARS, and Counselor’s Grid on campus. Please contact the Help Desk with your specific issue. Please indicate the computer name and location if you are requesting software installation.
Virtual Office Hours
IT Training will be holding virtual office hours on an ad-hoc basis using CCCConfer web-conferencing.

Fall 2014 Technology Workshops
3C Media Solutions is a grant-funded initiative that provides online file storage, video streaming, live streaming, and podcasting for CCC faculty and staff at no charge.
We are excited to bring you workshops on the file sharing and media streaming portions of the 3C Media Solutions service. In a 90 minute workshop, offered three times this semester, we will cover:
- creating an “upload” account
- uploading files
- uploading media
- sharing files
- sharing media
- group folders for shared content

Poll Everywhere is a live audience participation tool. The audience (students, faculty, staff, etc.) can respond to questions, quizzes, polls, etc. via a web browser (especially on a mobile device), SMS, or Twitter.

- creating a free account
- creating a poll on the web
- responding to a poll
- offering a survey
- creating a poll in PowerPoint with the desktop app

This workshop will help you do that. We will create and customize a website using the free service from WordPress.com. In this workshop, you will learn how to:
Utilize the same software that will be used for the upcoming Rio web site
Create new websites or weblogs with customized looks
Update content by adding posts and pages
Install popular plugins to enhance and customize your new site
Your domain name is your own piece of the internet landscape. You don’t have to be a company or organization to have your own domain name and it doesn’t cost very much. Owning your own domain name lets you control how you share with people on the internet.
In this workshop, we will discuss:
- What is a gTLD and what does it mean? (.com, .net, .org, etc.)
- What is domain privacy?
- What is “hosting”? Do I need it?
- What are the email options?
- The value of having one location students reference for all of your online resources
Ten years ago you remembered all of your passwords. You had a system. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked.
That was three hundred websites ago. You are going to need some new passwords.
This workshop will walk you through the steps of using LastPass to manage your sensitive usernames and passwords. You can expect to discuss:
- Is LastPass really secure?
- Can I store passwords offline and online?
- How do I generate a secure password?
- How can I use LastPass to fill in forms for me?
- How will using LastPass make my life easier?
