
A new
season. A new attitude. A new beginning.
The
Roadrunner women's soccer team returns 9 players, including 5 All
Foothill League honorees from last season and adds 18 new freshman, most
of them celebrate All-League or All-CIF honors from their high school
careers. Joining them will be several transfer athletes from the junior
college ranks and four year universities.
With a
year more experience under their belts the sophomore class is expected
to lead the way into the competitive preseason schedule to prepare the
team for Foothill Conference play.
The
coaching staff boasts three coaches who won CIF Championships while head
coaching their high school teams. Roadrunner head coach Jennifer
Tanaka, assistant Amanda Broussard, and new assistant coach Baltazar
Rodriguez all won CIF Championships for their respective programs.
Former Brazilian professional player Salvador Filho returns for his 2nd
season on staff and 2008 Rio Hondo captain, Amanda Garza joins as an
assistant coach for the new year.
