Notice of Public Hearing to Consider Adoption of the Rio Hondo College Master Plan and Certification of the Final Master EIR 

The Rio Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing to consider the adoption of the Rio Hondo College Master Plan and the certification of the proposed Final Master EIR (SCH No. 2005011001):

The proposed Final EIR will be available for public review on September 6, 2006 at the Rio Hondo College Library (reference desk), at the El Monte Library, El Monte Norwood Library, Los Nietos Public Library, Pico Rivera Public Library, Rivera Public Library, S. Whittier Public Library, Santa Fe Springs City Library, Whittier Central Public Library, Whittwood Branch Library, and on the Rio Hondo College website: www.riohondo.edu/planning. 

A map with parking instructions will be available at the parking kiosk on College Drive and can be downloaded at: www.riohondo.edu/directions/index.htm. Convenient parking will be available in Lot F.  Directional signs to parking area and hearing room will be posted.

Public Information: Any interested party or their representative may appear at the public hearing and comment on the proposed Adoption of the Rio Hondo College Master Plan or the Certification of the Final EIR. If you challenge this matter in Court, you may be limited to raising those issues you or someone else raised at public workshops and/or hearings, or in written correspondence delivered to the Rio Hondo College at, or prior to, the public hearing.

Building Program Update- September, 2006

The Rio Hondo Building Program has made significant progress toward implementing the Master Plan in the last few months. The next major milestone will be when the Board certifies the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and adopts the final version of the Master Plan on September 20, 2006. The campus will be updated at the State of the College Address in September.
