| Fall 2005 Motions September 6, 2005 The Senate directs the President of the Academic Senate to (a) look into the new Network Specialist position to see how that will serve the faculty needs, (b) derive an analysis of contributions of the Virtual College, (c) to obtain a profile of Virtual College students, and (d) explore the ramifications of moving the servers off-campus. MSPU. Motion to have the 2nd Vice President be the voting representative at the Senate Plenary. MSPU. Motion to accept the language of the new B.P. 7160 adding legal citations and removing the word “or.” MSPU. September 20, 2005 Motion to affirm that College Procedure 5070 is in effect as per the mutual agreement established in 1991 and, if it is to be changed, that a subcommittee be formed to mutually agree to another procedure. MSPU. The Senate support the finals week for the spring semester, 2006. MSPU. October 4, 2005 Motion from Senate Exec: The Academic Senate reaffirms its role in the development of education programs as enumerated in Title 5. October 18, 2005 Motion to accept Board Policy 7350 (Resignations) without changes. MSPU Motion to approve BP 4020, BP 4025, BP 4030, BP 4040, BP 4050 with changes. MSPU November 1, 2005 The Academic Senate supports the actions of the DSPS faculty. Additionally, senators want assurances from Administration that the policy is legal and that it affords due process for students. November 15, 2005 No action. November 29, 2005 Motion to keep a historical, annotated list of board policies. MSPU Motion to delete BP 2001. MSPU Motion to form a subcommittee to completely rewrite the academic rank advancement process. MSPU Motion to form a joint-subcommittee (members of Academic Senate and Faculty Association) to discuss class sizes and make recommendations in a timely manner. MSPU Motion to table discussion of combination of classes due to ongoing negotiations. MSPU Motion to delete the following board policies, as annotated below: BP 2001, 2102, 2108, 2110, 2120, 2204, 2205, 2207, 2210, 2305. The Senate recommends that BP 2210 (International Teacher Exchange) be converted into an Administrative Procedure (AP) and also be placed in the faculty handbook. MSPU
