BookStore
Task/Mission:
Examine and make
recommendations on bookstore contractual issues and general bookstore
practices including What are the terms of the contract with regard to 1) our
giving students alternate places to buy books on our syllabus, 2)
responsibility of the bookstore to give out student requested ISBN numbers
over the phone, 3) % of profits that support ASO activities, and 4) how can
we prevent other bookstores from copying and selling materials we have
generated ourselves. The next phase would involve the bookstore manager,
Marilyn Brock and maybe one dean to discuss policies regarding 1) # of
books requested versus number of books ordered, 2) ability for faculty to
request older editions, 3) ability of the bookstore to link registration of
courses to required books so that the bookstore could package everything for
the student to either pick up or have delivered. This would keep profits on
campus and cut down on bookstore congestion.
