The Foster/Kinship Care
Education Program at Rio Hondo Colleges provides quality
education and support to caregivers of children and youth in
out-of-home care so that these providers may meet the educational,
emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of children and youth.
The Foster/Kinship Care Education Program currently offers the
following :
-D, F, & WFFH - RATE Pre-Service Training (Pre-Servicio para La
Tarifa D, F, y WFFH)
-B, D, F, & WFFH - Rate Renewal Classes (Clases de Renovación para
La Tarifa B, D, F, y WFFH)
-Kinship Classes (Relative Caregiver Educational Support Group)
The Youth Development Services Program
provides services to foster youth (ages 16-21) with life skills
classes. Youth learn about employment, higher education
opportunities, housing resources, interpersonal skills, financial
assistance, and other community resources that may assist them in
successfully transitioning into adulthood.

topics. A certificate of completion will be given at the end
of each class or at the conclusion of a program the meets more than
once.
