The Foster/Kinship Care Education Program at Rio Hondo Colleges provides quality education and support to caregivers of children and youth in out-of-home care so that these providers may meet the educational, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of children and youth.

The Foster/Kinship Care Education Program currently offers the following :

-D, F, & WFFH - RATE Pre-Service Training (Pre-Servicio para La Tarifa D, F, y WFFH)
-B, D, F, & WFFH - Rate Renewal Classes (Clases de Renovación para La Tarifa B, D, F, y WFFH)
-Kinship Classes (Relative Caregiver Educational Support Group)

The Youth Development Services Program provides services to foster youth (ages 16-21) with life skills classes. Youth learn about employment, higher education opportunities, housing resources, interpersonal skills, financial assistance, and other community resources that may assist them in successfully transitioning into adulthood.
