Career assessments are important tools in helping individuals make
career related choices. In order to better serve you, please see a
Career Counselor to determine which assessment is most appropriate. Among our more popular assessments are the following:
- MYERS/BRIGGS Type Indicator (MBTI) - A personality assessment
that helps "explain why different kinds of people are interested in
different things, are good at different kinds of work, and sometimes
find it hard to understand each other." Therefore, it can be a very
useful tool for helping people make decisions about their education,
career, and life choices. The Myers Briggs has been used around
the world for more than 20 years. It takes approximately 20-30
minutes to complete. To receive your results you must arrange a
professional interpretation with a career counselor. This
interpretative report may be free to EOP&S students. For non EOP&S
students this interpretative report will cost $16
Community members will pay an additional $5 fee.
- Strong Interest Inventory- A research validated
instrument designed to assist adults with career decisions. By
comparing your interests to the interests of people who enjoy their
jobs, the Strong will help you to discover your true interests so
that you can better identify, understand, and expand your career
options. The report is based on the concept that if people like
their jobs, and you share the same interests, you'll likely find similar
work enjoyable. This assessment takes about 25 minutes to complete
and to receive the results you must receive an interpretation either as
part of a class or by making an appointment with a career counselor.
This interpretative report may be free to EOP&S students. For non
EOP&S students this interpretative report will cost $11.
Community members will pay an additional $5 fee.
- Eureka Micro-Skills - A computerized guidance system to match skills
to career options.
- Self-Directed Search (SDS) - A self-scoring career
exploration tool that matches interests and abilities to careers and
majors.
- Card-Sorts - Fun and interactive hands-on tools for assessing
interests and values.
The MYERS/BRIGGS and Strong assessments require an
in person interpretation.
