Hospitality for Transfer

The Associate in Science in Hospitality Management for Transfer (AS-T) Degree is intended to meet the lower division requirements for Hospitality majors (or similar majors) at a CSU campus that offers a Hospitality Management baccalaureate degree. This degree is designed for students interested in gaining the basic concepts of Hospitality Management and to prepare them for jobs with local and global hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, sports arenas, entertainment, and amusement parks. On completion, students are ready to transfer seamlessly into Hospitality Management and related degree programs at a CSU.

In addition to the courses listed in the curriculumn tab, the following additional requirements must be met for completion of the AS-T Degree in Hospitality Management:

  1. Completion of 60 CSU-transferable semester units.
  2. Achievement of a minimum GPA of at least 2.0 in all CSU- transferable coursework. (Some majors may require a higher GPA. Students should consult with a counselor for more information.)
  3. Completion of the 18-19 semester units in the major with a grade of “C” or better.
  4. Certified completion of the California State University General Education-Breadth (CSU GE) pattern; OR the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern.

NOTE: Students are advised to check with the Counseling Department or Transfer Center for the courses accepted into the Hospitality major at the CSU where they seek transfer.
