SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE
BUSINESS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/ CONTINUING EDU DIVISION

This curriculum is designed for the student wishing to own their own business. Areas of emphasis will include management, marketing, and operations management for a small business. The student will gain a general core of knowledge about different types of small businesses: service businesses, international businesses, e-commerce businesses and business to business ventures through hand on projects.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLO)
  • Students should develop an effective business plan by using guerrilla marketing strategies and basic financial statements.
  • Students must be able to distinguish between the debt vs. equity finance options.
  • Students be able to explain the essential importance of cash flow planning for the small business operations.
  • Students are able to use breakeven analysis to evaluate marketing plan.

To acquire the Associate of Science Degree in Business with the Small Business Management Option, it is necessary to complete the graduation requirements of the college along with the following:
