SPANISH FOR TRANSFER
ASSOCIATE IN ARTS
DIVISION OF COMMUNICATIONS & LANGUAGES
The Associate in Arts in Spanish for Transfer (AA-T) Degree is intended to meet the lower division requirements for Spanish majors (or similar majors) at a California State University that offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish.
This degree is designed for students interested in the field of the Spanish language and for students looking to further their understanding of the cultural and linguistic aspects of the language as they apply to the workplace. These courses will provide students with a solid foundation in Spanish language and culture that will be useful either for transferring or using in the workplace.
In addition to the courses listed in the curriculum tab, the following additional requirements must be met for completion of the Associate in Arts in Spanish for Transfer:
- Completion of a minimum of 60 CSU-transferable semester units.
- Achievement of a minimum GPA of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework (some majors may require a higher GPA, students should consult with a counselor for more information).
- Completion of the 19-20 semester units in the major with a grade of “C” or better.
- Certified completion of the California State University General Education-Breadth (CSUGE) pattern; OR the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern.
NOTE: Students are advised to check with the Counseling Department or Transfer Center for the courses accepted into the Spanish (or similar majors) at the CSU where they seek transfer.
