What are my options?

Rio Hondo is eager to help you obtain your educational goals. Our counselors are here to review your educational records and help you find the best options to complete your goals. Transferrable credit for courses completed at ITT can be obtained by successful completion of Credit-by-Exam. Without earning transfer credit, the courses completed at ITT may still be used to meet prerequisite requirements for courses required at Rio Hondo.

Can I get credit for my ITT classes?

“Credit-by-Exam” is a process by which course credit may be earned through demonstrating proficiency in specific subject matter covered in the course. The examination is administered and reviewed by designated personnel at Rio Hondo College.  When a student successfully passes the examination, course credit is obtained and noted on the student’s transcript.

What are the requirements for Credit-by-Exam?

Rio Hondo College (RHC) requires that a student be currently enrolled at RHC, having successfully completed 12 units at RHC, and in good standing.  Credit-by-Exam can only be given for courses listed in the college catalog.

Why should I meet with a counselor?

Counselors at Rio Hondo College can help you identify the best educational plan for you to obtain your goal quickly and efficiently. Counselors will guide you and find resources to help you become a successful student at Rio Hondo.
