Welcome to Rio Hondo's Honors Program Website! If you are new to this site, we're glad you've taken an interest in this excellent program. If you are a current Honors student, we hope this website will keep you up to date on all things Honors. As always, Martha and I are here to assist and support you as you pursue your academic goals. Attention all Honors Transfer Program Students

A review team from UCLA will be here Wednesday, March 12th to investigate Rio Hondo’s honors program.

This review team would like to have lunch with YOU!

The first 40 honors students to RSVP with Rebecca Green (A221B) will be guests at a catered luncheon from 12:00 – 1:00 in the boardroom on the first floor of the Admin building.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to represent Rio Hondo and the honors program (and have a free lunch!)

Filing a UC Application for Fall ‘08
Did you know that the Honors Transfer Program at Rio Hondo College works with different titles, depending on the university campus you are looking at?

If you are applying to UCI or UCLA, please make sure to answer question #60, on page 11 of the application. For these two campuses you can indicate that you participated in the Honors Transfer Program by entering a code of 06 for UCI (UCI Community College Honors Transfer Program) and of 08 for UCLA (Transfer Alliance Program).

Martha DeLaMora, Honors Program counselor is requesting that you schedule TWO counseling sessions with her each semester. Please call and make an appointment today by calling (562) 908-3410. Your first meeting with her should be held prior to March 12th.

The deadline for students to apply for an AA is on April 4.

Important Announcement
Students who have finished the program and have not had an exit interview or have not picked up their medals, can do so by getting in touch with Martha De La Mora at (562) 692-0921 x3139, or email her at mdelamora@riohondo.edu.

Honors Transfer Society News
The Honors Transfer Society invites you to join them in the Fall on Wednesdays @ 1:00 in B105. This group of students enjoys on-campus club activities, as well as service oriented events like tutoring at Mills Elementary school. To be a member of the Society, you must be an active participant in the Honors Transfer Program. Stop by in the Fall!
