PELL Grants
Fall 2024
- August 23, 2024 – 1st disbursement 50% (For students with Satisfactory Academic Progress of ELIGA or ELIGB)
- September 6, 2024- Make-up first disbursement (Disbursed early on August 29, 2024)
- September 27, 2024 – 2nd disbursement 25% – (Delay September 30, 2024)
- October 25, 2024 – 3rd disbursement 25%
- December 20, 2024 – Make-up disbursement
Spring 2025
- January 24, 2025 – 1st disbursement 50%
- February 7, 2025 – Make-up first disbursement
- February 28, 2025 – 2nd disbursement 25%
- March 21, 2025 3rd disbursement 25%
- April 25, 2025 – Make-up disbursement
- May 9, 2025 – Final Make-up disbursement
Summer 2025 (Estimated Dates)
- May 30, 2025 – 1st disbursement
- June 27, 2025 – Make-up first disbursement
- July 18, 2025 – 2nd and Final disbursement

Cal Grants
Cal Grant will be paid in two disbursements per year. Half of the award during Fall and the remaining half during Spring
Fall 2024
- September 27, 2024 – Regular disbursement (Pending funds) – (Delay September 30th, 2024)
- November 8, 2024 – Make-up disbursement (Pending funds)
Spring 2025
- March 7, 2025 – Regular disbursement (Pending funds)
- May 16, 2025 – Make-up disbursement (Pending funds)
Cal Grant B Access – Disbursement Eligibility*
- 0-5.5 units (Less than half-time) – not eligible
- 6-8.5 units (half-time) – 50% eligible
- 9-11.5 units (Three Quarter-Time) – 75% eligible
- 12+ units (Full time) – 100% eligible
*Eligibility is based on enrolled units at the time of disbursement preparation. Late start classes do not count until the class begins.

Loans
Loans will be paid in two disbursements per semester.
Fall 2024
- October 11, 2024 1st disbursement 50%
- November 1, 2024 2nd disbursement 50%
Spring 2025
- March 14, 2025 1st disbursement 50%
- May 2, 2025 2nd disbursement 50%

How are disbursements made?
Before receiving a disbursement, you must have a completed file and do the following:
- You must ensure that all requirements have a Satisfied (S) Status showing on AccessRÍO
- You must enroll and take part in classes
- You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
Awards are posted on AccessRÍO. You will receive a disbursement notification email via RíoMail.
The disbursement amount is based upon the number of units that you are currently registered and attending. If you drop units, your disbursement amounts may be affected.
All disbursements are credited to your student account first to cover any tuition you still owe. Any remaining amount is disbursed to the account you have selected as your refund preference.
Río Hondo delivers your refund with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. Visit refund choices or refund choices with single sign-on for more information.
Third-Party Servicer Contract for Refund Management
First funds from your grant or loan are applied to your student account. Then RHC verifies the information. Finally, it is sent electronically to BankMobile. It is then processed by BankMobile and disbursed according to your refund preference.
BankMobile sends you an email to the address you entered when you selected your refund preference to let you know when the funds are disbursed.
