(Whittier, Calif.) – Río Hondo College is inviting the community to attend two upcoming enrollment events designed to help students begin or resume their college education.

spring into rio 2025

The events—scheduled for Saturday, May 17, and Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.—are free and open to all, including high school graduates, first-time college students and those returning to higher education. Attendees will receive hands-on assistance with the college application process, FAFSA financial aid forms, class registration and more.

Río Hondo College offers a wide range of academic and career pathways, including associate degrees, university transfer programs and career workforce education. The College is known for its strong first responder training programs, including nursing, fire technology, law enforcement and emergency medical technician (EMT) training.

To support student success, Río Hondo provides a variety of programs and services, such as a Veterans Service Center, Child Development Center, Health & Wellness Center, Financial Aid Office, Summer Bridge and much more. These resources are designed to help students thrive academically, personally and professionally throughout their college journey and beyond.

Many students may also qualify for the Río Promise Program, which provides two years of free tuition to eligible students.

“These events are a great way for anyone interested in college to take the first step in achieving their educational goals,” said Cecilia Rocha, dean of Student Equity & Achievement. “Whether you’re just finishing high school or looking to return to the classroom, we’re here to support you.”

The enrollment events are free and open to the public. Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to reserve their spot online by clicking here. For more information, visit riohondo.edu.
