The Psychiatric-Technician to Associate Degree Nursing Program is a program designed to prepare the Psych Tech for employment as a Registered Nurse, providing direct care to patients.

Graduates earn an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN examination, leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse. The program is approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.

To acquire the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing, students must complete on of the following GE patterns in addition to the nursing curriculum:

  • Río Hondo College General Education and Proficiency requirements,
  • Cal-GETC for UC and CSU

Effective September 27, 2022, this nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on September 27, 2025.
