Do I need a parking permit?
Free parking is available to everyone attending EMEC. Disabled parking spaces are directly in front of the campus, but you must have a current Disabled Parking Placard to park in these spaces.
What classes are offered at EMEC?
EMEC offers a variety of general education courses which are required to earn a degree and/or transfer to a university. We also offer Continuing Education courses, at least one each semester and Foster/Kinship offers parenting classes in Spanish.
Is there a shuttle to the main campus?
Not at this time.
Do you offer evening classes?
Yes, EMEC offers evening classes during the Fall and Spring semesters. The current Spring 2020 offerings can be found HERE
What bus can I take from EMEC to the main campus?
From EMEC, you can walk to the corner of Tyler and Garvey Avenue and get on the Foothill Transit Bus Line 486 and get off at Peck Rd. On Peck Rd., get on the Metro Bus Line 270 to Rio Hondo College.
Do you offer classes during the summer session?
Yes, classes are offered at EMEC during the summer, the courses offered are on the CLASS SCHEDULE section of our web pages.
Where can I get something to eat near here?
EMEC has both a snack and drink vending machines next to the women’s restroom, and water in the main office. There are also many fast-food restaurants within quick walking distance; or approximately 5 minutes driving distance.
Do you have a place to study?
Yes, at EMEC there is both a lab with computers and also in our Administration (central office). Please call us with any specific times needed and our friendly support staff will answer any further questions. EMEC also offers an instructional assistant to help you with most of your academically related concerns (ex. Paper review and editing, research help, computer help too!
Can I print out my class assignment?
Yes, students can print up to 10 pages for your class assignments in the Administration Office and during Open Lab hours in classroom E-102.
Is there a counselor?
Yes, EMEC has an academic counselor scheduled two days of the week at specific times to help with most of your questions and needs. To gain access to, or schedule a meeting please call in advance to arrange an appointment.
