Firefighters, fire code inspectors and fire investigators protect lives and property through their understanding of fire prevention and control. Aspiring fire protection professionals might want to consider an associate degree in fire technology with Rio Hondo College, which helps students learn how and why fires occur, as well as how to extinguish them safely. The degree program focuses on the practical knowledge and skills needed to effectively and safely prevent, fight and investigate fires.
This curriculum was developed jointly by the Curriculum Committee of the California Fire Chiefs’ Association and the College advisory Committee and is intended for firefighters, fire officers, and interested students.
