Campus Tours are a great way to learn about Rio Hondo College, and to gain awareness of our beautiful campus. Student Ambassadors are trained to offer campus tours for perspective students and families, new students, and guests of the college. Please see below for important information on how to request a campus tour.
Campus Tour Schedule
In order to ensure that Student Ambassadors have a balance between academics and their roles as Student Ambassadors, Campus Tours are conducted on an as requested date and time. For school districts with groups larger than 10, we kindly request, if possible, to schedule a tour on a Friday, this allows for most students and staff to be available for larger groups. We can host tours as early as 8:00 am and as late as 4:00 pm. A secondary day during the week would be a Thursday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Our campus is currently undergoing many building renovations so our ability to host a group larger than 50 at a time is very limited. We hope this does not deter you from scheduling a tour, we can always schedule multiple days if needed.
Campus Tour Requirements
- Groups must have at least three (3) people in their group; groups with less than three people can be accommodated with a self- guided tour packet.
- Campus Tours must be scheduled at least ten (10) business days in advance; late request will not be honored
- Groups coming to campus must purchase a parking permit; parking permits will not be provided by the Student Life & Leadership Department
Please check out our Google Campus Map. Click on any location to see information and pictures of our campus.
Arriving to RHC
If arriving by car: Parking is available in all student parking lots. The closest parking to the Student Life & Leadership Department is Student Lot C. Permits may be purchased for $3.00 in Lot 2 at the Information/Security booth or kiosk in Lot C. Please plan ahead to find parking.
If arriving by bus: Please direct your bus driver to drop you off in front of the Science Building Tram Stop which is located in front of Staff Lot B. Chaperones are responsible for keeping their students safe when exiting the buses.
Tours will be cancelled during rainy weather. We want to ensure the safety and health of our campus guests as well as our Student Ambassadors. We thank you for your understanding.
Tour cancellations will be required at least 24 hours so that we can notify our Student Ambassadors. Please call our office as soon as possible. You will need to fill out the Campus Tour Request Form in order to reschedule another Campus Tour. Rescheduling a Campus Tour requires the same turnaround time of ten (10) business days.
Should your visit require consideration for a physical disability, please indicate that on the Campus Tour Request Form. For further information, please call the Student Life & Leadership Department. Please be advised that pets are not permitted on campus unless they are service dogs.
We are always excited to invite children of all ages to explore our campus. In order to ensure the safety of our guests as well as the integrity of our Campus Tours, we require one (1) adult chaperon for every fifteen (15) minors on each Campus Tour. We are unable to lead tours without chaperons, and groups are organized so that no more than fifteen (15) people are in each tour. In order to make the experience as wonderful as possible, we ask that our chaperons set rules and guidelines prior to attending the campus tour. Student Ambassadors will not be enforcing those rules and guidelines, and we hope to have your support with keeping the group together.
