Get a Head Start with the Summer Bridge Program
Are you ready to jumpstart your college journey? Join us this summer for a free and exciting six-week adventure with Río Hondo College’s Summer Bridge Program.
The 2026 Summer Bridge Program runs from June 15 to July 24, 2026, with program hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. It’s the perfect way for new first-year students like you to get a real taste of college life and learn the ropes before your first official semester.
Think of the Summer Bridge Program as your academic head start. Not only will you get to grips with what it takes to succeed in college, but you’ll also complete ONE General Education / Transferable course and an academic enrichment course. By the time the fall semester begins, you’ll already be one step ahead in your college journey.

- California resident or AB 540 eligible
- First-time college student of all ages

If you’re a California resident gearing up for your first-ever college experience, the Summer Bridge Program is tailor-made for you. It’s easy to join. Just follow these three simple steps.
- Fill out the Summer Bridge Program application.
- Apply to Río Hondo College.
- Submit your FAFSA or California Dream Act application.
The priority deadline is May 4, 2026.
