Crisis Assistance During Office Hours

Office Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Thursday . Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm

Psychological services are offered on an appointment basis, but situations arise that may require immediate or same day attention. If you have an urgent matter, you do not need an appointment. If you have an urgent situation, call Student Health & Psychological Services at (562) 908-3438 and ask to be seen for a crisis appointment. Urgent matters may include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Death of a friend or loved one
  • Thoughts of self-harm
  • Thoughts of harming someone else
  • Experiencing a traumatic event
  • Having odd or intrusive thoughts
  • Experiencing extreme anxiety or panic

If an urgent matter arises after hours or if the psychologist is not on campus there are many resources available to you in the community. If the situation is life threatening call 911 immediately.
