Krista Orozco

Term of Office 2024-2028

Ms. Orozco was re-elected to the Board of Trustees November 5, 2024. She represents Trustee Area 4 which includes Los Nietos, Santa Fe Springs, South Whittier and North Norwalk.

Biography

Kristal Orozco is a dedicated public servant, educator, and advocate for student success. A first-generation college graduate, she began her higher education journey at Pasadena City College before earning a bachelor’s degree in History from Whittier College and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Kristal serves as a Youth Educator Supervisor with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, where she oversees three Student Wellbeing Centers serving students in the Montebello and East Los Angeles communities. She is committed to expanding access to mental health services, health education, and wraparound support that helps students thrive.

As a member of the Río Hondo College Board of Trustees, Kristal is dedicated to advancing equitable access to higher education and supporting student achievement. She lives in Santa Fe Springs with her husband and their two children, Roman (12) and Ximena (7).
