Biography

Pablo Chamagua is a dedicated student leader and first-generation college student who proudly represents the Rio Hondo College community. Raised in El Monte, he graduated from El Monte-Rosemead Adult School, an experience that shaped his resilience and commitment to expanding educational opportunities.

Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work and Human Services, Pablo is deeply passionate about supporting others and creating meaningful change within his community. His academic journey at Rio Hondo College has been marked by strong achievement and active involvement both inside and outside the classroom.

Pablo has demonstrated a strong commitment to student advocacy through his involvement in the Associated Students of Rio Hondo College (ASRHC), where he served as Senator of Basic Needs. In this role, he worked to address essential student concerns and promote access to critical resources. Beyond student government, he is heavily involved in a wide range of campus programs, consistently seeking opportunities to uplift and support his peers.

In addition to his leadership roles, Pablo works in the Counseling Office, where he assists students in navigating academic pathways and accessing support services. Through this position, he has developed a deeper understanding of the challenges students face and the importance of strong institutional support systems.

Driven by a genuine passion for advocacy, Pablo believes that Rio Hondo College provides a strong and supportive environment that empowers students to succeed. As a student trustee, he is committed to amplifying student voices, strengthening campus resources, and ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive.
