Biography
Carlo has been a resident of Whittier since birth, growing up only 5 minutes away from uptown Whittier, near Lydia Jackson Elementary. He was a part of the high school class of 2024 at Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights. After graduating, he started college. The fall of 2025 will mark the start of his second year at Rio Hondo as a political science major with the hopes of transferring to UCLA, his dream school.
He struggled a lot through high school due to mental health struggles, with his performance in the classroom falling far below what was needed to enter UCLA. Thanks to Rio Hondo College and the Community College system, he was able to rebound to heights he had never seen before, and a second chance at entering UCLA. Because of this, Carlo feels indebted to the Community College system as a whole and wants to improve the campus for the students.
He is also focused on broader advocacy endeavors, working through the Student Senate of California Community Colleges (SSCCC) as a Board of Directors member, where he hopes to improve the Community College system on a broader level. His core values are equity and empowerment, especially for our undocumented students under this presidential administration. He plans to represent the students of Rio Hondo by always keeping his ears to the ground, always listening to the concerns of students.
