Yes, if you received an email that means you are eligible. To respond, please click the link provided in the email and select option I.
What do I have to do to have my balance written off?

Please click the link provided in the email and select option I.
If I select option I or II, will it put a hold on my account?

No, it will not. You are still able to register for Spring classes.
If I select option I, will this affect my financial aid award or eligibility in the future?

No. Selection of either yes or no will not affect Cal Grant or financial aid, now or in the future.
I want to select option II, what does that mean?

If you select option II, it means you do not authorize Río Hondo College to pay off your debt and you agree to pay the balance by other means.
I have not enrolled in classes, why is there a balance on my account?

If I opt for YES, do I have to pay it back in the future?

No, you do not. The Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds allows Río Hondo College to discharge student debt or unpaid balances.
I have made my selection online, but recently received a letter in the mail. What should I do?

Please disregard the letter. Your online selection has been received by our team.

Please allow some time for processing.
Is my debt paid automatically with the grant or is it sent to my bank for me to pay?

Once you click the link and select option I, the debt balance will be written off automatically.

Scheduled Website Maintenance – March 26 @ 11pm to March 28 @ 11pm

Dear Rio Hondo College Community:

We want to inform you that scheduled maintenance on the College IT systems will take place beginning Wednesday, March 26, at 11:00 p.m. through Friday, March 28, at 11:00 p.m.

During this period, both the AccessRio portal and the Banner system will be temporarily unavailable as we perform essential maintenance tasks. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and apologize for any disruption to your workflow.

Note: All other systems such as Canvas, eSARS Appointment, and the college website are not impacted by this maintenance schedule.

We will make every effort to complete the maintenance as quickly as possible and restore access to the AccessRio portal and Banner system promptly. However, should any unforeseen circumstances arise, we will keep you informed about any changes or updates regarding the maintenance schedule.
