The Business Division at Rio Hondo College offers an annual entrepreneurship summer camp to high school students in partnership with NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship). High school students are eligible to participate in Entrepreneur Camp Rio for free!
This project-based, experiential camp is taught by a NFTE-certified teacher who teaches students to identify business opportunities, construct a financial model, and create a marketing and sales strategy. This camp culminates with all students developing and pitching an original business plan for competition prizes. The lessons learned throughout the camp tie back to core math and literacy skills.

- Times: 9am – 5pm
- Location: Rio Hondo College
- Grades: 9th – 12th grade students
- Cost: Free! (Powered by Strong Workforce & NFTE)
- Research Stipend for Students: $100
- Competition Prizes – sponsored by Western Governors University:
- $250—First Place
- $175—Second Place
- $100—Third Place
