Welcome to Fresh Success, a CalFresh Employment and Training program designed to support participants in gaining the education and training needed for better employment opportunities and a path to financial independence.

Program Services and Support

Fresh Success participants may receive the following services and benefits (participation in the program does not guarantee approval for all resources):

Textbook and course material support
Monthly gas cards for eligible courses
Assistance with test and course-related fees
Parking pass coverage
Student Success workshops

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in Fresh Success, students must:

Have a declared major or enrolled in courses that promote career training and basic skills for the entirety of program participation – Career and Workforce Education (CWE), English Language Learning, Vocational, Adult Basic Education, or Basic Skills program.
Reside in Los Angeles County
Recipient of CalFresh (SNAP) benefits
Cannot be recipient of CalWORKs benefits
- Exception: Head of household receiving child-only CalWORKs may still be eligible

Dear Río Hondo College Community,

Canvas is currently inaccessible due to an ongoing issue affecting Instructure, the parent company of Canvas. Out of an abundance of caution, access to Canvas has been temporarily suspended while the situation is being addressed.

Students and employees are advised to:

Avoid attempting to log into Canvas until further notice.

Do NOT download or open any file if prompted after navigating to the Canvas login page.

Río Hondo College is actively monitoring the situation and working closely with Instructure to receive updates and support instructional continuity. We understand the disruption this may cause to our campus community and appreciate your patience and understanding. Additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

Dear Río Hondo College Community,

We are pleased to report that the water main break has been repaired and water service has been fully restored to our main campus. All in-person classes and on-campus activities will resume as scheduled effective Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 6:00 a.m. We appreciate the Rio team and our partners at the San Gabriel Valley Water Co. for their tremendous work.
