The RíoSource Room
The RíoSource Room is the Basic Needs Center at Rio Hondo College that offers comprehensive support designed to address the holistic needs of students experiencing food and housing insecurities.
By providing access to food and other essential resources, we aim to remove barriers for students to achieve academic success by allowing them to focus on their studies and career aspirations without the concern of securing their basic necessities.

- Food assistance (groceries and snacks)
- CalFresh and Medi-Cal application assistance
- Hygiene products
- Academic supplies

The RíoSource Room is located on the third floor of the Student Services Building, SS-305.

CalFresh
CalFresh, federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), helps low-income individuals and families afford nutritious food through monthly benefits provided on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. This EBT card can be used at many grocery stores and participating farmers markets.
Many college students may also qualify for CalFresh benefits through available student exemptions!
