In accordance with the passage of (AB) 705, assessment testing is no longer required for Placement into transfer-level English and Math. However the following students are still required to take a placement exam: international students and students who identify as English new language learners for accurate placement.

ACCUPLACER also has a FREE web-based study APP for all students. The Study App includes sample tests and resources.
Math Test Preparation
MDTP offers FREE on-line sample tests and scoring reports for Pre-Calculus and Calculus readiness.
Khan Academy offers FREE practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.
Rio Hondo College Preparation Support
- You can request tutoring in the Learning Assistance Center (LAC) to prepare for the placement tests at 562-908-3418 or in the Math and Science Center (MSC) at 562-463-7571 (When the centers are available).
- You can also participate in a Math Assessment Preparation workshop offered by the Math and Science Center (MSC).
