(Whittier, Calif.) — The College invites community members and their families to visit campus, explore programs and services, and meet the new Superintendent/President Don Moya-Miller, Ph.D., during a free Open House and Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“I am deeply honored and excited to serve as the new superintendent/president of Río Hondo College, said Dr. Moya-Miller. “My goal is to strengthen our partnerships with the communities we serve and ensure our neighbors know about the many opportunities available, so they can achieve their educational goals.”
This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, including Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, Selenamos and Tecnica Arte y Folklore. Guests can also enjoy activities for the whole family, along with complimentary tacos, paletas and other refreshments.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to come onto campus to experience this remarkable college campus, spend time together and have some fun along the way,” said Board President Rosaelva Lomeli. “As a Board elected to represent our communities, we look forward to working with Dr. Moya-Miller to continue strengthening the College and the region we serve.”
The Open House and Celebration is free and open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Río Hondo College is located at 3600 Workman Mill Road, Whittier. Free parking will be available in all campus lots. Community members are encouraged to bring their families, explore the campus and discover the many opportunities available at Río Hondo College.
