Río Hondo College is offering a summer program focused on teaching participants about the invention process. This program is offered in partnership with Lemelson-MIT, a national leader whose mission is to prepare the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs. 

Individuals 18 years and older, and High School students are eligible to participate in the Invention Camp Río for free!

Program description

The Invention Camp Río is a two-week summer program where participants and budding inventors will work collaboratively to identify and solve problems within their own life and community. 

You’ll enhance and refine your creative and problem skills through fun and applied project-based experiences igniting the inventor in you. View 2023 pictures.

  • Dates: Mon – TBD 2025
  • Location: Río Hondo College, 3600 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA
  • Who: Anyone 18 years and older and High School students.
  • Cost:  Free!  (lunch provided)

Applications will be out in spring of 2025 and space will be limited. Please note, accepted students are required to attend all workshop sessions.
